Finally!! I went to Japan during the spring period! The last time I went during the ‘spring’ period was with Ina & Ariana back in 2008 before my university prelim exams! Which after that, I have only traveled to Japan only during the summer and winter season due to my work schedule.
Wanted to spend some time with le bf because I wasn’t able to do so in my previous trip, I decided to go for this rather impromptu trip right after I came back from Japan in January!
As usual, I flew with JAL, but at an earlier timing instead of my usual red-eye flight timing at 2am, and I was in a rush as I had to rush back home to do my final check on my luggage before I head over to the airport.
Felt a little excited because it is my 1st time to spend the spring season in Japan (the reason why I mentioned 1st time is because in the earlier mentioned trip, I didn’t even get to see any sakura as I was there way too early!!)
Anyway, back to the topic.
Got to the airport at around &:30pm, and there was a long queue for the check-in. Managed to get an aisle seat and once I was done with the check-in, it was time for me to shop abit in the departure area, while waiting for my flight.
Boarded the flight around 9:45pm, and gave le bf a call before I depart to tell him that I was safely on board.
The whole flight was alright except the flight was full of Singaporeans, and it seems like they don’t even need to sleep as they were talking non-stop throughout the whole flight. Managed to catch some snooze with my earphones on.
The late dinner on board the flight. Food was really yummy while I watched a Japanese movie featuring Fukushi Sota & Komatsu Nana in ‘ぼくは明日, 昨日のきみとデートする’. It is really a touching show!
Touched down earlier than expected, but then because of the luggage delay, I was on schedule for my trains.
After putting my luggage at le bf place, I headed out with him as I had an eyelash appointment at 10 at Harajuku, and then had my breakfast at McDonalds before my eyelash appointment. The morning rush at his place wasn’t that bad, but still quite packed.
Went for my eyelash appointment at Harajuku, then it was off to Omotesando for my hair appointment at ZACC. I was totally wowed by the stylist and the staff there. I specifically chose Wada-san because of the images he has done for various people posted on instagram, and he advised me alot on my hair condition, color and etc. Another reason why I chose ZACC is because of my favorite actress, Ishihara Satomi, also went to this salon. Wada-san gave me advices on how I should upkeep my hair, blow dry my hair, styling, and of course which areas of my fringe not to cut.
Here’s the link for ZACC Raffine if you’re interested!:
After my appointment, I realized that my battery for the wifi was running flat, but I didn’t had my spare battery with me, and I had to sms my colleague whom I was meeting that night for dinner to bring spare battery. My colleague was also late in meeting me as his handphone battery was running flat too, so he went back to his apartment to get it. So while waiting for them, I decided to go to Tokyo Skytree to wait, and of course grab a quick late lunch at one of the stalls in Tokyo Skytree.
Decided to go for Takoyaki as I haven’t had them for ages!
Chose the mentaiko with mochi takoyaki as it was really simple and enough to fill me for a few hours before my next meal.
This is how the inside looked like, filled with juicy tako (octopus) and mochi! Regretted taking this as the mochi was chewy, and I had a hard time trying to chew the mochi when it was hot.
After my meal, I rushed down to Asakusa to meet my colleague and his wife, and went to Sensoji and also Sumida Park to see the sakura before our dinner at Kita-senju.
With my colleague and his wife at Sensoji Temple!
Bought myself a sakura ice cream, but it was not as fantastic as I thought it was….
At Sumida Park, enjoying the pretty sakura!
Much thanks to xx-san for making my hair so pretty!! Can’t wait to visit him in my next trip!!
After the walk around Sumida Park, we decided to head to Kita-senju for dinner.
That’s all for Day 1! Will blog about Day 2 soon!!
