Much thanks to Apple’s friend, Shao Yang, for giving her ticket to me, I was able to attend this concert.
I have never been to a Korean concert before, and I usually go for Arashi concerts in the past.
This year’s YG Family concert is held at Indoor Stadium, and I reached there a little wee bit earlier as I was taking the circle line from Buona Vista to Stadium MRT. It is not really a long journey especially you have something to do. For me, I was very focused playing games on my PS Vita. Luckily, I had my PS Vita with me to kill some time.
After reaching Stadium MRT station, I went to buy some concert goods (especially light stick), and to my horror, all the towels were sold out!!!! I really wanted to get either one of the towels as I could also use it at home. The concert shirts were also expensive, especially Big Bang’s one. It was priced at $110. I was so shocked. I ended up getting a YG Family light stick.
After buying the goods, I decided to head over to Kallang Wave, the new shopping mall, which is nearby, and just wander around.
The queue doesn’t seem that long when I arrived around 2.40p.m.
The new stadium!!! But I haven’t had the time to go inside!
I did wandered off to some places in the Kallang Wave shopping mall. Also had my early dinner there too! Shouldn’t have gotten the Kimchi soup, coz I can never ever finish a bowl of Kimchi soup. I also managed to try out Smoothie King!! It was really yummy!!
This device will light up when your smoothie is ready! I ordered the Strawberry Slim ‘n’ Trim, and it was really yummy and filling!!! I totally regretted taking the Kimchi soup!! I should have went for this, if not the A-one Claypot porridge which I really
Walked a few rounds, and then when it was near to 4.30p.m., I decided to head over to the venue, and I was so shocked to see this!!
The queue was still so long at 4.30p.m.!!!! And the concert was supposed to start at 5pm sharp!!!
After looking a while, and the queue from my view seems to be little, so I went to queue. But I was wrong, they actually shifted the queue behind!! And by the time I went in, it was already 5 plus, and the concert actually started!! I was abit angry as it, as they should have either get everyone in before 5pm, and have them seated, if not start abit later while they get the audience in first.
The first group to perform was 2NE1, then Epik High, WINNER, Big Bang and PSY. I’m not really sure about the song list, coz I rarely listen to Kpop. Am more of a Jpop fan.
My light stick wasn’t working at first, and I sort of dismantled it a few times while watching the concert, and it was only during Epik High’s stage time, I realized how the light stick work.
Overall, the concert was really good, and it made me realize why so many like Kpop instead of Jpop. From my point of view, Jpop concert is really different from Kpop. Kpop does give alot of fan service, but Jpop doesn’t really. And I also learnt a few pointers from this concert. The only thing I didn’t like was the sound system, coz it can make your ears ring right after they finished their song. Also, I do hope SG fans can learn how to be able to follow the rules, coz they always like to use their handphone to film everything down. Plus, when one does it, everyone follows the suit. In Japan, the fans will asked the other fans to keep their phones even though you are messaging people, coz this is basic courtesy to the fans and also to the singers. As for Korea, I heard that the security will ask you to leave the event and delete the images/video clips right on the spot. If they could do this to the fans, I think it will be good, coz security won’t need to always go to the audience and stop them from taking photos, and then other fans (people like me) won’t turn around to see what is going on.
Anyway, I really enjoyed myself!!
Won’t be posting any videos/pictures of the concert, even though I took some during the encore.
There are youtube videos on the concert going viral, so you can do a search on Youtube to see the fancams~
