Recently, I have been doing my homework on gyms in Tokyo and Kanagawa, checking reviews in both English and Japanese.

Overall, I was albeit disappointed with the gyms in Japan because they were somehow smaller as compared to the ones I’ve went to before in Singapore.
In terms of price, I guess JoyFit 24 wins hands down comparing to Anytime Fitness because of the security card fee. On top of that, I guess there was a promotion going on a JoyFit, hence the monthly charges were relatively cheaper. Am not too sure about the other months though.
In terms of space, I guess the Anytime Fitness outlet near my place is bigger as compared to JoyFit 24, but facilities wise, JoyFit 24 do have equipment such as medicine ball, kettle bells and etc., at the outlet near my office.
But the good thing about Anytime Fitness is that I’m able to use it back in Singapore or any country as long I’m not staying for more than 3 months Singapore or any other country besides Japan.
I will still be on the lookout for gyms, so if you have any recommendations, do leave your comment and I’ll check it out!
