A little late for new year resolution, but nevertheless, I am still in time for it!
Was busy with my freelance work, and slowly getting a hang of my actual job.
In the past, I used to write down new year resolutions, but I somehow fail to follow them or probably got lost somewhere, so I ended up not accomplishing any of them. Further, some of them are pretty much unrealistic for me to accomplish because I can hardly get myself to focus on one thing for a long time.
So this year, I’m going to list about 10, and of course, try to be realistic as much as possible.
NEW YEAR RESOLUTIONS FOR 2019
1. Dedicate more time to blogging & curate better blog posts (preferably 2 posts in a month), and create more traffic here! *It’s getting way too lonely here…😭*
2. Lessen down on freelance jobs to be taken for a month
I have been taking a lot of freelance jobs and committing to them while I was still in Singapore, was one of the ways I can spend my time. But living in Japan, especially with my other half, makes me want to do other things instead of doing freelance jobs. There are also times where I want to go out and relax.
No doubt I can earn extra, but I think I want to enjoy time in Japan while I still can.
3. Travel more in Japan
Hopefully to conquer all 47 prefectures which include not only the touristy area but also the rural area. Hoping to do it soon because I still have my IDL (International Driving License) with me before it expires this October!
4. Travel to Seoul & Busan
Have been wanting to visit Seoul because it has been more than 10 years since I last visited Seoul, and it has definitely changed a lot! Plus, it is another a 2 hour plus flight from Tokyo to Seoul!
5. Be able to speak simple sentences in Korean fluently.
6. Slim down & exercise
Grown fat again in Japan, and I seriously need to start dieting!!! Giving myself about 3 months to do so because I want to buy beautiful clothes, and look good and confident!!
7. Take up photography again and learn how to edit photos
Did I mentioned this, but I did take up photography lessons when I was schooling in Ngee Ann Polytechnic. Hoping to pick up this skill again, and practice with my DSLR, provided I can find it in the first place…
8. Save up money for investment
Have been a bad saver since young and I’m very much prone to spending because I didn’t learn how to save, and I’m a known spendthrift at home. I know this is sad, and of course maybe a little too late because one is supposed to start saving when they are young. But as the saying goes,
You’re never too old, never too bad, never too late and never too sick to start from the scratch once again. – by Bikram Choudhury
So, here I am to be more prudent with my money!
9. Pick up the habit of reading
Am very much inspired by Iida Marie, who is the unsung hero of Kondo Marie. Hopefully that I can be as good as her, so in order to do so, I guess I need to read more to increase my knowledge and vocabulary. So, I’m giving myself a Reading Challenge on Goodreads.com, to finish reading at least 12 books this year!
10. Last of all…Be a better me on the overall!
Not only on the outer appearance (I need to practice on my makeup skills because I have been plain lazy for the past 2 months) but also on the inside.
I need to keep my temper as much as possible because I have been quarreling a lot with my other half, and being the generous man he is, he tends to give in to me. So, I guess I have to change on my side for things to work out.
So, that’s all for my resolution for 2019, and hopefully, I will be able to accomplish them as much as possible!
And for those who have set/have not yet set their resolution for 2019, fret not, because you can do this any time of the year.
Just work hard towards your goal, and be sure not to lose your goals!
