Hey everyone, am back with another post! This time, it’s an opinion based post because after working for 1 cryptocurrency company and prior to entering one, I decided that probably I’m not cut out to join them.
First of all, some of you may know that I was supposedly to join a cryptocurrency company in Japan as their in-house translator. To be honest, I didn’t like that idea, but because of my pride, ego and also wanting to go to Japan quickly to join my other half, I decide to take the plunge, and sign a contract with them. But little did I know, the way that they do things is totally unlike of a Japanese company. I was very appalled by their way of working, taking their own sweet time to respond to matters, and worst of all, not even trying to help unease my worries over the visa application. Theirs took pretty long, and being skeptical about the whole job, I decide to do another round of job searching, and thankfully I managed to find one, where they quickly confirmed me.
So what happened today was that little did I know that my visa application was still pending was because the cryptocurrency company asked another company to help me apply, and they only withdrew my application when the immigration board sent them a letter, mentioning that there was another application on-going for me, and asking whether to retain it or not. I got a copy of that letter, and guess what, it was dated August 24. I had informed to the company that I would like to withdraw my application on June 12. Talking about efficiency, this was the worst one. I’m not sure whose fault it is, but at the very least, do proper communication. Imagine nearly 2 months or more of waiting then did I know that my application was not withdrawn until the immigration board asked. So apparently, the immigration board did asked for reasons why I wanted to withdrew my application. I told a blatant lie to the company saying that my father is down with mild stroke (which WAS a fact), and I had to stay back in Singapore to look after him (this part is the lie), which will at least make me look nicer. However, when I saw the report, I was shocked because they wrote the earlier part, and also written down another point saying that they had no idea that there was going to be another application. The reason I was shocked was because I had told them that if I had another chance to join Japan (once settling my family stuff), I would go again. Never did I think they will write until like that. Prior to that, I actually went to contact the people in the Cryptocurrency company who was handling my application. One of them was at least still nice to me in his way of writing, whereas my ex-hirer messaged me saying this “I hope you can understand that it is difficult to respond to your various selfish requests as we were being played out by you.” I was horrendously shocked when I saw my ex-hirer send me this message on LINE, claiming that they are being victimized by me. It’s more like I was the one being played out for waiting so long without any updates, and of course I need another alternative plan, so don’t blame me for it. Instead of playing a waiting game, I could find better offers so why not?
So, now at least my Letter of Eligibility might be approved sooner, and because of them it was delayed. Was hoping to go to Japan earlier, but it’s because of them everything was delayed. Seriously can’t believe it!
2nd case, is my one-off China business trip with this Japanese cryptocurrency company. The money was good, but everything else just sucks. Why? Because even though it is a Japanese firm, there is no rules, everyone was doing what they want at their own pace, and everything was just TARDY! Imagine me waiting for them for a meeting which was supposed to be at 2pm, and only 2 of us were still awake despite the early flight from Guangzhou to Shanghai, the rest were sleeping soundly. I didn’t catch much sleep at all myself. Just less than 4 hours of sleep and I had to get to the airport. Furthermore, the airport in Guangzhou was abit unpromising especially for the domestic flight, because there was practically nothing except KFC for breakfast. Even Starbucks wasn’t opened at all. The Japanese boss wasn’t the typical Japanese boss, and just do things on a whim, which made me think that probably he is not cut out to be a boss. No doubt he earns alot, but he just doesn’t have the flair of being a boss, or maybe managing his people. He could even let his business development executive do what she wants during the presentation.
So after 2 encounters which such cryptocurrency companies, am sad to say that they are just not my cup of tea, and no doubt I did learn abit of cryptocurrency knowledge, I don’t want to imagine myself in those companies. They seem very shady to me.
Please don’t flame me for what I’ve said because everything is just purely based on what I encounter.
