Another new update!
Am currently working at a nearby Starbucks, while waiting for my friends for dinner at Clarke Quay’s HDL. Ever since Amanda and Zynnthea brought me to HDL, I have fell in love with this place!
Anyway, today’s topic is something else…..which is about my VISA!
Must be wondering what I have been doing for the past 2 weeks ever since I came back from my China/HK freelance trip? Well, I have been taking some freelance jobs since then while waiting for my letter of eligibility to be approved by the Japanese government. And the reason why it took so long was because I changed to another job, where I will be working in Yokohama as a proofreader. I’m still learning how to do proofreading, and of course trying to get myself into the habit of double checking.
I’m still waiting for my letter, and it is already in the third week. Praying hard that it will come faster because I’m unable to commit to any job unless it is a freelance job that requires me to work for a week or for certain days. No doubt this freelance stint has made me flexible, but I also do find that people like to lowball freelancers, requesting us to do it at a cheaper rate as we do not have any reputation at the moment. I felt that this lowballing thing is total crap, and if one is able to submit excellent work, so why lowball them? Maybe lowballing them at the start is alright, but not for long term. I have met certain clients, and they do lowball me. However, I have no choice but to accept it. The woes of a freelancer.
Back to topic.
Have already sent a box full of books and winter clothing to Japan, which will take about a month. Hopefully I can go to Japan within a month. Also heard that Japan is really hot, and I really wonder if I could survive the heat in Japan. I find the heat in Singapore a little unbearable.
Am hoping to write more in the future, but I wonder what can I write about.
