Have been reading some articles both online and offline (newspapers) on how to upgrade myself, to make myself look better out at the job market.
No doubt I have obtained my JLPT N1, with just barely a pass, I felt that I needed to take one more time, but I always put it on hold, and most of my friends including my bosses said that passing it is more than enough. But reading the articles, I felt that I had to take again because in the outside market, even though you have obtained the highest level, it doesn’t mean that you are up to the N1 level. I have seen for myself how people who have passed the old syllabus yet still not proficient with the language, are not up to the job itself, and still they put themselves high up in the market, which can be very vexing.
Currently, I’m thinking whether to take the exam in July or December, but thinking that if the exam is in July, the time I have to prepare is very much limited. But if it is December, I still have some time to prepare while I take my time to prepare what I need to revise. On top of that, I can also concentrate on my Korean language studies, which was put off for quite some time.
Anyway, back to the topic. For those who are interested in taking the exams, the registration for July’s paper is already out, and you can either apply it online or at JCSS itself. I recommend registering at JCSS itself as the staff there will be able to help you check on your registration form in case you miss anything else.
As for the study materials, either you can get them from Amazon, or get it from Kinokuniya Singapore.
There are also those preparation classes at Ikoma, which are really intensive, and do not panic if you fail to reach their mark, because I used to fail my tests all the time at Ikoma.
Let me know if you have any queries, and I will try my best to answer them!
All the best!
