Finally got the chance or rather the mood to write. Hopefully, I can keep this going.
Anyway, back tracking to the topic, this trip is an enjoyable one, which I personally like the most even though I haven’t travelled out alot.
Took the early morning flight over to Tokyo, and luckily…. Zynnthea was also on the same flight as me! It was really unexpected! I book the wrong flight, and since I don’t want to pay so much to change to a flight that flies on Xmas day itself, I decided to shift it to the following early morning. And guess what, Zynnthea said that she could only find this flight as she booked her flight much later than mine, we decided to go together! Was really happy to have a companion in the same flight as I always flew alone to Japan.
My no-make face as it was an early morning flight.
During the flight to Tokyo, I barely had any sleep, and the breakfast, especially the bread, made me a little sick that I couldn’t finish the whole meal.
This was their breakfast. It was a Soup Stock collaboration.
After reaching the Haneda Airport, we head to collect our luggages, and Zynnthea’s friend came over to pick her up. After that, I bought my bus ticket to Ikebukuro, and then went to the toilet to get myself changed into winter clothings after I parted with Zynnthea and her friend.
Camwhore while waiting for the bus to come.
After taking the bus, and reaching Ikebukuro West Gate station, I headed off to Sakura Hotel Ikebukuro, where I stayed for 2 night before I head off to Izumo with Zynnthea.
I did a quick check-in at Sakura Hotel, picked up my data sim card, which I bought it from B-Mobile (do take note that the speed will become real slow a few days later), which is relatively cheap for a 14 day package, and since I have been using B-mobile for a few years, I didn’t really encounter any problem except that my speed was getting real slow, and I even had to ask Zynnthea to help me check certain websites on a shop location. After getting all ready, I quickly set off to Harajuku, where I had a eyelash and nail appointment. This shop was recommended by Zynnthea, and having been there last year, I really liked their services, hence I decided to head there this year again!
If you’re interested to know which shop, here’s the link. Rich8. I’m not sure if their staff could speak English (which I think they should be able to converse in simple English), but you could try. As for how to book their services, I actually booked mine thru Hot Pepper Beauty, where you can use coupons which are really worth your munnies.
After doing my nails and eyelashes at the same time, I walked all the way from Harajuku to Aoyama for my hair appointment. Again, this was a recommendation by Zynnthea (you can see how many times her name has appeared on this post), who actually told me that one of their stylists, Kaneko-san, is really good at hair styling. So, I decided to make a change, and went to Aoyama to do my hair. Was a little wee-bit lost, but thankfully, with B-Mobile, I was able to find the shop, ACQUA aoyama. Went in there, and I was abit…stunned, because it was really different from the salons that I had visited in Japan. But definitely, the price of having your hair done in Japan is really different.
Kaneko-san was really nice, and having told her that I was from Singapore, she was really shocked that I came all the way to Japan alone, and even came to the salon she was working at, to get my hair done. Also, she mentioned that there was a Singaporean who went there too, and had her hair done, which was Zynnthea! Had a great talk with her, but she saw that I was really tired from the early morning flight, she decided to let me sleep a while as I had a hair colored. Plus, she recommended a head massage, and even asked her junior to give me a head massage where I could relax. Was really grateful for what she has provided.
Was running a little wee bit late, as I had an important dinner appointment with a certain group, which I’m not allowed to show any pictures, because it could become a big problem, I quickly rushed back to the hotel to grab things that I needed. Had wanted to change out of my clothes to something more presentable, but decided not to, as I was really running late.
Took the train, and instead of taking the Yamanote Line to Akihabara, I took the Tokyo Metro Line to Ochanomizu station, and then walked over to the connecting line for Chuo Line. I was abit lost when I reached Ochanomizu as I thought it was connected. It was not connected at all, I really did panicked as everyone was waiting for me (except for one person who came late). So, I followed the crowd, and managed to find the JR Line. But guess what, I went to wrong platform, and wanted to board it, but then I stopped myself from boarding, and make sure that I was on the correct platform before boarding it.
After boarding the correct train, I was finally on my way to Akihabara! Contacted one of my friends who was waiting for me, while the rest are already at the restaurant waiting for me. Something sweet did happen, but sadly, it was nothing, which I don’t really want to mention. But anyway, the dinner was great. It was an awesome catch-up with everyone, which I didn’t really expect. Plus, the group was really nice! And to top off it, I had this awesome dish, which my friends told me that it was really expensive.
It’s Nodoguro, a type of fish, which practically melts in your mouth! Had never tried this in Singapore, and to be honest, I was so happy to be able to eat this. Didn’t eat much that day, as my stomach was still feeling queasy since that morning, and everyone was abit worried that I wasn’t eating much.
After the first round, we went for the second round, where we found a nearby place to drink. A few went home first, while the rest of us continued to drink. To me, I really had a great time, and it wasn’t really easy to meet up with everyone, and I hope to be able to see them this year!
And of course, how I went back that night? I wasn’t tipsy that day, because I didn’t drink alot and most of it were cocktails, but a certain someone insisted on one of them to send me back to the hotel, that person really did, and well…it certainly touched my heart.
Anyway, after reaching back, I went to bed immediately because, the next day, I’m heading to Disney Sea with my colleague and his family!
Next post will be really short, as I do not have much pictures!
Will post it when I’m back from my Bangkok trip!
